Comfortable clothes you can move in and closed-toe sneakers with flat soles (Vans, Converse, or similar). Skip shorts for your first lesson — jeans or joggers protect your knees if you fall.

Having your own board to practice with outside of lessons is encouraged, but Leon can provide one if needed. If you have your own setup, bring it and he'll check that it's dialed in.

Kids from age 3 through adults of any age. Leon has taught 5-year-olds their first push and 50-year-olds their first drop-in. No age is too late.

Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Hoboken, and parts of Connecticut. Leon meets you at a skate park or quiet spot near you. Location is confirmed after booking.

Private lessons are $120 per hour. A 3-lesson starter pack is $300 ($100 per session), a 10-session commitment is $900 ($90 per session), and the quarterly season is $540 for six sessions ($90 per session, billed quarterly). Duo lessons are $180 per hour for two people — bring a friend, a date, a sibling, whoever. Group lessons are $80 per person with a 2-person minimum.

Yes, and it's how most students make real progress. A Monthly Standing Session is $360 a month for four lessons at the same day and time, held for you week to week. Rescheduling is free, and you can cancel anytime. Small groups can book a recurring Skate Squad slot for $260 per skater per month.

That's exactly who Leon works with best. Every lesson starts with balance, stance, and confidence on flat ground. No one gets pushed beyond what they're ready for.

Yes. About half of Leon's students are adults, many of whom have never stepped on a board before. It's never weird and never too late.

Leon teaches year-round as long as it's dry and above freezing. Rain and snow days get rescheduled at no cost. During the coldest months, 2nd Nature Indoor Skatepark in Westchester is an option for keeping sessions going. Lessons are confirmed with payment via Zelle. Cancel 24+ hours before your lesson for a full refund. Under 24 hours or no-shows are non-refundable, since Leon travels to you for every session. If weather makes it unsafe to skate, Leon will reschedule at no cost.
