A Real Skatepark to Learn In
The New Rochelle Skatepark at Lincoln Park has ramps, ledges, and flat ground all in one spot. Leon uses it for everything from first-time balance work to helping experienced skaters learn new tricks.
Leon Knows This Town
New Rochelle is where Leon is based. He skates here daily, knows every smooth surface and quiet corner, and can meet you at a spot that fits your level without any travel time.
Where Lessons Happen
Leon teaches at parks and open spaces across New Rochelle. Here are the main spots.
New Rochelle Skatepark (Lincoln Park)
The town's dedicated skatepark with ramps, rails, and flat sections. Leon uses it for skaters who want to work on tricks and transitions, and the flat area is great for beginners getting comfortable on the board.
Hudson Park Waterfront
Smooth pavement along the waterfront with open space and a relaxed atmosphere. Leon teaches here when students want a flat, uninterrupted surface for cruising, pushing, and building confidence.
Five Islands Park Area
A quieter spot with paved paths near the water. Good for students who want to learn away from a busy skatepark setting, especially younger kids or adults who are just starting out.
What to Expect
Leon starts by asking what you want to work on. If you’re brand new, that means stance, balance, and pushing. If you’ve been skating for a while, he’ll focus on whatever tricks or skills you want to develop.
Lessons are about an hour. Leon brings boards and helmets. Wear flat-soled sneakers and clothes you can move in. Helmets are required for students under 18.

“Leon is one of the best skater/teachers in New York. He's very knowledgeable. And also very patient with his students. Skating is very difficult and there is a lot of repetition. He will be guiding you the whole way making sure you land trick. Highly recommended if you or your child wants to get into skating.”
