Leon teaching a young student to skateboard in a NYC park

Learn to Skate with Leon

Whether you’re stepping on a skateboard for the first time, getting back into it after years away, or trying to push past a plateau, Leon offers personalized lessons designed to help you build confidence and progress at your own pace.

How Leon Teaches

Leon’s teaching approach comes down to one thing: meet every student where they are. That means understanding your goals before picking up a board. Figuring out what your body already knows and what it needs to learn. Building foundational skills with care, not rushing toward tricks for the sake of content or ego, and developing a strategy that fits your pace and your ambitions. The goal is helping you feel real confidence and genuine joy on a skateboard.

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and closed-toe shoes with flat soles (sneakers are perfect). Avoid sandals, heels, or anything restrictive. Helmets are provided and encouraged for all ages.
Are skateboard lessons safe for kids?+
Absolutely. Leon has years of experience working with children and emphasizes safety, patience, and positive reinforcement. Helmets are always used, and lessons are tailored to each child’s comfort level and ability.
Where do lessons take place?+
Lessons happen at skate parks and outdoor spaces across NYC, Westchester, and the tri-state area, including Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, New Rochelle, Pelham, and western Connecticut. Leon will work with you to find a convenient location.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?+
Life happens. Leon asks for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules. Just reach out by email or text to make a change.
