Larchmont is a small village right next to New Rochelle, which means Leon can get here in under ten minutes. That makes it one of the easiest spots to schedule, especially for after-school lessons or quick weekend sessions. The village itself is about a mile long, mostly residential streets with well-kept sidewalks and not much car traffic once you’re off Boston Post Road.
A lot of Larchmont families already have their kids in multiple activities — soccer, tennis, swimming — and they’re looking for something the kid can do independently. Skateboarding is good for that. Once a student gets the basics down, they can grab their board and ride around the neighborhood without needing a field, a team, or an adult to organize anything. What to Expect
Larchmont’s parks are flat, shaded, and rarely crowded on weekday afternoons—good conditions for learning something new without an audience. Leon tailors each session to where you are. If you’re stepping on a board for the first time, that means getting your footing, figuring out which foot goes forward, and making your first push. Returning students work on whatever’s next for them, from carving to kickturns.
Plan on about an hour per lesson. Flat-soled sneakers and comfortable clothes are all you need to wear. If you don’t have a board yet, Leon can bring one, but owning your own helps between sessions.
