Where Lessons Happen
Leon teaches at several spots around White Plains. Here are the go-to locations.
Ebersole Ice Rink Area
The smooth, flat pavement outside the rink is one of the best surfaces in White Plains for skateboarding. Leon uses this spot for beginners who need a wide, even area to practice pushing and turning.
Kittrell Park
A neighborhood park with open space and paved areas. Leon teaches here when students want a low-key spot away from busy roads. It works well for younger kids and first-time skaters.
White Plains Greenway Trail
A paved trail that runs through the city with long, flat stretches. Leon uses it for students who want to work on cruising, building speed, and getting comfortable riding over longer distances.
What to Expect
Before anything else, Leon checks in on where you’re at. Complete beginner? He’ll start with how to stand on the board and push off. Already skating? He’ll work on whatever you want to improve, from kickflips to just feeling more stable at speed.
Lessons are about an hour. Leon brings boards and helmets. Wear flat-soled sneakers and clothes you can move in. Helmets are required for students under 18.
