What Beginners Want to Know

You Won’t Look Stupid

Leon teaches beginners at quiet, flat spots with plenty of room. No skate park crowds on day one. No audience. Just you and the board.

One Hour Is Enough to Start

Most beginners are standing, pushing, and turning by the end of their first session. You don’t need to commit to a program to find out if you like it.

You Don’t Need to Bring Anything

Leon provides a board during the lesson. Wear flat-soled shoes and clothes you can move in. That’s it.

What Your First Lesson Looks Like

Leon meets you at a flat, open spot near your neighborhood. No skate park, no ramps, no crowds. Just smooth ground and space to move.

The first thing you learn is how to stand on the board. Then balance. Then a first push. Before any of that, Leon shows you how to step off safely and how to fall without getting hurt. Most people are surprised by how quickly the nerves go away once they realize they’re in control.

By the end of the hour, most beginners can push across a flat surface, make basic turns, and stop. Some people get there faster, some need a bit more time. Leon adjusts to you. He’s taught kids as young as 3 and adults well into their 60s. The approach changes, but the patience doesn’t.

Adults Who Always Wanted To

People Getting Back Into It

You skated 15 or 20 years ago and want to pick it back up. The muscle memory comes back faster than you’d think. Most returners are pushing again within 10 minutes.

Families Learning Together

Parent and child, or siblings. Leon teaches two people at once for a flat rate. It’s a good way to learn something new together.

Can You Teach Yourself?

You can. A lot of people learn on their own through YouTube and trial and error. But it takes longer, and most self-taught beginners pick up bad habits that are harder to fix later. The biggest risk is learning to push with the wrong foot or developing a stance that limits what you can do down the road.

A single lesson with Leon can save you weeks of frustration. He catches the small things in real time: foot placement, weight distribution, where you’re looking. It’s the difference between grinding through YouTube videos alone in a parking lot and having someone who’s been doing this for 20+ years show you exactly what your body needs to do.
